Job Placement

One way Goodwill helps people find work is by placing them in a job. We match individuals with a job based on their interests and abilities. Individuals choose the job they would like to apply for. Then, Goodwill coordinates an interview with the appropriate employer.

Jobs types may include clerical, food service, general labor, hospitality, janitorial, manufacturing, retail, or security.

Supported Employment Services

Supported employment services helps people with disabilities find work. Goodwill locates jobs that match the person’s interests and skill level. Then, each person works with a job coach and goes through training.

Sometimes people need some extra help at their job. Goodwill also provides support that will help individuals keep their jobs.

Transitional Employment Services

Transitional work experience is employment that provides real working opportunities in a supportive environment. This is paid work, for a limited time period. This service gives people a chance to develop soft skills for work. Soft skills include interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork, problems solving, critical thinking, etc.

Employment Follow-up/Retention Services

This service supports employed individuals and helps them keep their job. Goodwill connects them with resources that will help them succeed in their new job. This can include things like childcare support, help with transportation, and work clothes.
