Meet Jonathan

As he watched his own kids grow up, something shifted. He realized that change couldn’t just come from the words he said to them, it had to come from the example he set for them.

“I needed to make a change because despite what I tell ’em, it’s about what they see,” Jonathan explains.

That moment of clarity led him to an unexpected turning point when his judge, the Honorable Judge Deborah A. Thomas, suggested a program called Flip the Script.

Skeptical at first, Jonathan admits, “I thought it was a bunch of BS.”

But he gave it a shot, and it turned out to be nothing like he expected.

Flip the Script gave Jonathan hope, purpose and a new perspective at a time when he needed it most. Surrounded by people who believed in him, he began to rediscover his own potential. The program not only equipped him with new skills, but it helped him uncover a sense of self-worth that had been buried for years.

“Life is still life,” Jonathan said, “But now everything has just come to a positive outlook. The program is amazing because it helps on a broad spectrum, not only with education, not only with skilled trades-they gave me the opportunity, opened the door to be one step closer to my dream.”

The opportunity Flip the Script gave Jonathan was more than a job or a trade, it was a door to a future and has allowed his sons to see him achieving true success through integrity.

Jonathan’s journey reminds us that it’s never too late to grow, to change and to inspire those we care about with our actions, not just with our words.
