Meet Danielle.

Before finding Goodwill, Danielle worked at the United States Postal Service. While her job offered consistency, it wasn’t her passion. She knew she was meant for something more. So, when she learned about Goodwill’s construction apprenticeship program, she saw an opportunity to build the life she truly wanted – both literally and figuratively.

Danielle embraced the challenge.

In September 2025, her hard work was recognized at the annual Flip the Script Celebration of Transformation, where more than 300 people gathered to honor participant success. Danielle received the Career Transition of the Year Award, recognizing her bold leap into the construction pathway and the momentum she built through commitment, training and follow-through.

Since completing the program, Danielle has continued moving forward. She has submitted her application for the Michigan Statewide Carpenters and Millwrights training program through the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights and has drawn interest from local construction companies as she explores her next step in the trades.

Danielle’s story reflects the power of investing in people and creating pathways to opportunity. She is stepping confidently into a new industry and building a sustainable future.
