Services for Job Seekers and Employers

As one of six Oakland County Michigan Works! sites, the Novi center offers free access to job search tools, training programs, and business services that open doors to employment opportunities across the region.

The center is proudly part of the American Job Center network.

Job Seekers

Register today to jumpstart your path to success.

Services are available to everyone free of charge, with both self-serve and staff-assisted options designed to help you reach your employment goals.

Job seekers have access to computers, internet resources, books, videos and other career-related materials. Our workshops cover essential skills such as resume writing, networking, interviewing and financial aid.

We also host job fairs, on-site interviews, guest speakers and local hiring events, connecting you directly with employers who are ready to hire.

Career Development Programs

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
Career Services provide individualized employment and career planning, assessments, counseling and in-depth development assistance. Program eligibility is required.

Partnership, Accountability, Training and Hope (PATH)
Applicants referred from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services participate in PATH, a results-focused program that helps them find and keep employment through resume writing, job search skills and ongoing support services. It also provides training on workplace expectations and professional behavior.

Veterans Employment Services
Our Veterans Employment Specialist helps veterans find meaningful employment, build occupational skills and access state and federal resources. Personalized support includes job search assistance, career planning, training guidance and priority access to employment opportunities.

Businesses

We partner with Oakland County Economic Development, City Economic Developers and Michigan Economic Development to assist with new hires, company launches, retention and expansion information and business proposals.

Business Services include:

Recruitment/Outreach

  • Provide a location for businesses to host  job fairs , conduct interviews
  • Serve as a point of contact for applicants to receive and return employment applications.
  • Assist with Pure Michigan Talent Connect registration and usage – an online marketplace connecting Michigan’s job seekers and employers, and serving as a central hub to support and employ Michigan’s workforce.
  • Promote employment needs to our community via social media sites and email distribution lists.
  • Partner with Veterans Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP) to connect veterans with job opportunities.

Business Hours
Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (except State Holidays).

To ensure same-day service for Unemployment Insurance Claims, customers should arrive no later than 3:30 pm to input their UIA Claim and resume data.

The Resource Room closes at 4:45 p.m.
