A valued member of the Goodwill of Greater Detroit team since 1998, Kara has spent more than two decades championing the organization’s mission through by fostering safe, supportive environments that empower some of metro Detroit’s most vulnerable citizens.

Before stepping into her current leadership role, Kara served as director of A Place of Our Own Clubhouse, Goodwill’s internationally accredited psychosocial rehabilitation program. Widely respected by employees and Clubhouse members alike, she led the program with authenticity and distinction, consistently delivering superior behavioral health services, advanced personal recovery outcomes, and building meaningful partnerships across local, regional and national communities.

Kara is deeply passionate about helping individuals “be their best person” and is a firm believer in the transformative power of community—a belief that guides every aspect of her work.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Siena Heights University and a master’s degree in Social Work from Spring Arbor University.
