Work Incentives Planning and Assistance (WIPA)

  • In Wayne County Goodwill provides Work Incentives Planning and Assistance for persons that currently receive Social Security Disability (SSDI) benefits or Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
  • Community Work Incentive Coordinator provide information to enables SSDI and SSI beneficiaries to gain understanding of future effects on their benefits while seeking employment. 
  • Offers support to SSDI and SSI beneficiaries who are currently working.
  • Offers support to SSDI and SSI beneficiaries who need assistance in establishing use of work incentives.
  • Provides an understanding of the specific Social Security Work Incentives related to their benefit program.
  • Explains the advantages of using the Ticket-to-Work Incentives
  • Advice on choosing an agency with which to work for assistance in training and returning to work.
  • Explains the affects of work on Social Security benefits
  • Explains the affects of work on other public benefits

Services are provided free of charge to any Wayne County resident that receives SSDI or SSI.

Admission Requirements

Participants must be:

  • A resident of Wayne County
  • Must be currently receiving Social Security benefits for a disabling condition (SSDI or SSI)
  • Must be working or interested in working.
