Flip the Script

Since its 2003 inception Flip the Script has created new benchmarks in impacting and addressing the needs for change in the lives of young men and boys of color.

Considered by many to be Detroit’s premier minority male training program and one of the most respected in the nation, Flip the Script has assisted in excess of one thousand young men through an intense 18-week math-focused, reading enrichment, spiritually entrenched life and socials skills, academic and workforce development gender specific curriculum. Significantly, the program curriculum addresses critical issues such as male responsibility, positive relationship development, conflict resolution, fatherhood and financial literacy/wealth building with an evidence-based gender and culturally specific approach.

The bottom line outcomes the program has consistently used as measurements include teaching young men how to become economically self- sufficient, positive heads of households and taking an active role in their community.

Engaging a “holistic” approach, the Flip the Script program also includes job preparation, placement assistance, one-on-one and group GED tutorial/preparation, In-School Youth Service workshops, presentations and mentoring services for grades 4-12, mentoring and extensive involvement in community based projects.
