Veronica, is a young woman who Goodwill trained and mentored over the past few years. By investing in her life, we gave her the skills and confidence needed to succeed at work. As a result, Veronica has been employed for more than two and a half years and she's making great strides toward achieving her goals.
"My English skills were average but needed improvement and it had been a long time since I'd finished high school.. I needed to brush up on my math skills, too. Through Goodwill's program I had a chance to do that and also gain the confidence that has helped me get to where I am today."- Renzo

Seven years ago, Damien was 15. By all accounts he was an average student. He didn't make the best grades but he stayed out of trouble and did the best he could. His parent divorced when he was 10. The oldest of the three siblings, Damien stepped up and filled in wherever his mom needed help. Responsibility came early but it didn't come easily.

Some people like to joke about how hard it is to go back to work after lunch. And it's true.. it can take a few minutes to regain your focus, put your brain in gear and start being fully productive after an hour break. So, if you know what that experience is like, just imagine how it must feel going back to work after three years of unemployment.

Like clockwork, he arrives at 8 o'clock sharp, ready to welcome the day with a warm smile and encouraging word. He's an ambassador for Goodwill.
