Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit to launch summer
“pop up” booth in Eastern Market
Eastern Market visitors can shop ready-to-wear looks from
professional stylist at the “YB Blue” Goodwill store
DETROIT –Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit today announces that it will open a boutique Goodwill store every other Sunday in Eastern Market, beginning Sunday, June 1.
Eight professional stylists will create one-of-a-kind outfits for women, men and children assembled from the nonprofit organization’s three Metro Detroit Goodwill retail locations. Each stylist brings his or her own fashion sense to the looks. The YB Blue store will feature apparel from a different stylist each week.
In addition, shoppers can also browse a collection of vintage and retro home good finds, curated from Goodwill stores.
YB Blue will be located within Shed 2 at Eastern Market.
“Eastern Market is a quintessential part of the summer experience in Detroit. We want to bring the unique treasures and incredible shopping experience from our retails locations to Eastern Market shoppers” said Lorna G. Utley, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit. “The revenue from purchases at YB Blue will go right back to funding our efforts to put Metro Detroiters with employment challenges back to work. Shoppers can find great style and feel good knowing their purchase is helping to keep our friends and neighbors employed.”
YB Blue will be open every other Sunday from June 1st through September 28th and will feature a different stylist each time.
June 1- The shop will be curated by Christy Kondogiani, Paisley Place Designs
June 15- The shop will be curated by Annie Pilon, Wattlebird
June 29- The shop will be curated by Tracey Tilley, Studio 34
July 13- The shop will be curated by Mary Semon Milsted, Detroit Fashion Vault
July 27- The shop will be curated by Katie Kondek, Fashion Frugality
August 10- The shop will be curated by Bethany Nixon, Reware Vintage
August 24- The shop will be curated by Tracey Tilley, Studio 34
September 14- The shop will be curated by Mary Semon Milsted, Detroit Fashion Vault
September 28- The shop will be curated by Emily Schwartz, Livin Vintage
We wont be leaving the men out every other week either, Greg Everett, another amazing stylist will be picking out some exciting items for the men.
